Description

1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback Restomod 408 stroker with 475HP! 1,878 miles on the rebuild 5R09C161047 $69,873 This Mustang was purchased from a friend in Tyler, TX who had garaged the vehicle for at least 10 years (I never saw it out of the garage). He obtained the car from Jerry Shelby (no relation to Carroll) who had most of the mods done. It was featured on the cover of Mustangs & Fords magazine in November of 2006. I bought the car with the intention of running it on track in a Vintage series, but decided that the car was too nice to risk damage on the track. Since the purchase, I have purchased and am racing a ‘70 Fastback Mustang for the vintage series, so this car is now available for sale. Initially, Jerry obtained the car from Steve Greer (Carlsbad, NM) who created the basic build and painted the car (Pecan Frost PPG Deltron which is very close to the original Prairie Bronze color). The car has been a multiple show winner including Best Modified Mustang at the 40th anniversary Mustang show in Nashville, April of 2004. When I acquired the car, I drained and filled all the fluid levels, added a fresh set of tires and have driven the car a bit to check out the ride. It starts readily, idles smoothly, shifts positively and is generally a pleasure to drive. To the casual observer, the Mustang appears to be a stock 1965 Fastback, however, nothing underneath the skin is stock.
